Rendered in oil paint, I wanted the scene to feel as though it had wandered out of a storybook and paused for a portrait. The contrast between the two charecters - the dog's clam presence against the kitten's carefree energy. The rich green and decorative swirling patterns in the background was meant to evoke the feeling of an enchanted garden. I have used loose, expressive oil brushstrokes to emphasize movement and personality rather than strict realism,
