Boston Enamel Spray Paint is a fast-drying, high-build enamel that sprays on smoothly and covers well. It's a handy go-to for touch-ups and DIY jobs around the home, garage and workshop.

Use it on metal, timber and fibreglass, inside or out. It's great for gates, letterboxes, outdoor furniture, door hardware, trims, craft projects and car parts.

How to use

1. Start with a clean, dry, grease-free surface. Remove any rust or loose scale with a wire brush or sandpaper, then wipe down with a wax and grease remover.
2. On bare surfaces, prime first with a suitable Boston primer.
3. Turn the can upside down and shake hard for two minutes once you hear the ball rattle. Give it a shake every so often while you work.
4. Hold the can upright, about 15 to 30 cm from the surface.
5. Apply two light, even coats 15 to 20 minutes apart. Light coats give a much better finish than one heavy coat.
6. When you're done, turn the can upside down and spray for a few seconds until only gas comes out. This keeps the nozzle clear for next time.

Good to know

• Painting over an existing finish? Test a small, hidden spot first to check compatibility.
• Clean up overspray with mineral turpentine or all-purpose thinners.
• Use in a well-ventilated area.
• Store somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight, below 50°C.
